To Coach or Not to Coach?

People I come across often ask me what lead me to become a Dating Coach. It is not a common career nor a popular one. It is not what a Wharton MBA is supposed to do after graduation. Yet it is the path that was placed in front of me and one that I have chosen to follow.
After earning my MBA last year, I joined Corporate America in search of further development opportunities and a chance to apply what I had learned in business school. Unfortunately, that was not what I found. I joined a company with a toxic environment, very little structure, and poor leadership. A little bit after four months, I left the company to evaluate the choices that I had made and to determine the next steps.
During my self-discovery process, I was determine to address the areas in my life that I was unhappy with. One of those areas that needed attention ASAP were my relationships with my family, my friends, and men. As I am approaching 30 and will be on the clock (the biological clock that is) soon, I labeled my love life [or lack thereof] as a top priorty.
What was it about me that was turning men of? By all accounts, I am smart, funny, good looking, well-traveled, professional, well educated, adventurous. Even with all of these great qualities, I was still single. I proceeded to read every relationship book ever written. One book, Mars and Venus on a Date, put everything is perspective for me. After finishing the book, things just clicked! The book explained the five stages of dating, how to find the right person for you, and where to find this person, among other things.
I went in search of a Dating Coach to help me implement what I had learned. The book changed the way I approached my relationships with men. I knew that in order to make the changes stick, I was going to need "reinforcements". Even though I was unable to find a coach to work with, I came accross the opportunity to become a coach myself. What better way to help make changes in your life than by helping others make changes in theirs?!
Alas, I became a Mars Venus Coach (http://www.marsvenuscoaching.com/) a couple of months after having this revelation. So join me as I help teach the Mars Venus Way to a new generation.
